Citilink and Jetstar Move International Flights to Soekarno-Hatta's Terminal 2F - Jakarta Globe

Jakarta. Budget airlines Citilink Indonesia and Jetstar Asia Airways, Qantas' low-cost carrier, will start serving international flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport's Terminal 2F next week.

Currently, Citilink and Jetstar, an Asian offshoot of Singapore-based Jetstar Airways, are using the airport's newer Terminal 3 for their international flights.

Citilink's domestic flights will still go through the airport's Terminal 1.

Febri Toga Simatupang, the senior manager of branch communication at Indonesia's busiest airport, said Citilink will move its international flights to Terminal 2F on May 14. Jetstar will follow suit the next day.

"[Airport operator] Angkasa Pura II will use buses to transport passengers who come to the wrong terminal. The airlines will also inform passengers of this change," he said in a statement on Thursday.

Angkasa Pura II is a state-owned company that operates Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and many other airports in Indonesia.

Febri said passengers should try to get to the airport two hours before departure next week to avoid confusion.

The government has determined that the airport's Terminal 2, which was opened for the first time back in 1991, will now be reserved for low-cost carriers.

Terminal 2F is currently being renovated to allow non-ticket holders to enter the terminal up to the immigration check point. At the moment, they can only go so far as the first security check point.

Around 65 million to 70 million passengers go through Soekarno-Hatta each year.
